MEDICAL MANAGEMENT of symptoms due to the brain tumour is as well as important, like mass effect/oedema (corticosteroids that relieve swelling) or seizures (Antiepilectic Drugs (AED`s)). The choice of the AED should by carefully evaluated having some of them (phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine) showed interaction with enzymes in the liver involved in the metabolism of other drugs/chemotherapy, while other ones are better feasible/manageable  (valproic acid, levetiracetam).

A patient with brain tumour can be suitable for psychiatric and psychological treatment in case of depression or anxiety, that could be a consequence of his incapacity of carrying on a normal life with normal functions and the situation can be worsened by fatigue or endocrine disorders that could also be related to the use of steroids and other medications.
